Iron Cross Begonia "Masoniana"

I am a Collector of begonias, the name of this begonia is Begonia Masoniana; it is commonly called Iron Cross begonia. It was one of the first begonias I have ever collected! You can see in the picture why it is called an Iron Cross. This begonia is called a Rhizomatous begonia; it blooms in the winter. It is easier to grow than a Rex begonia. I will post pictures off Rex begonias soon. Please post a comment, send a picture of your Iron Cross. Ask questions; I have been growing begonias for 25 plus years now. I will be happy to share all I know and if you would like to share your experiences on how to grow, root and take care of this begonia please do share your knowledge so all of the readers of this blog can learn a thing or two me included!

I am 73 and have tried all that you have tried.I have had 16 Poms and there is nothing that compares to the love of our “babies.God Bless your Iron Cross.Episcia's are my second love.Then Discus fish and sewing.You remind me of my self so much.We could really have lots of fun togrther'I lost every Episcia that I had when we lost our power and heat .I almost lot my discus but my sister took them to her tanks and saved them for me.
You have a beautiful website.I could loook at it all day long,.You must work very hard.And it shows.You plants are georgous.Beautiful photos.I didn't find any prices on the Episcias.are they not for sale?I would love to have some Episcias again.They take my breath away.I know just how you feel as do the begonias.Good luck and god Bless

  Hi, I am sorry I haven't answered sooner. I am new at blogging. I have also lost episcias in the past to the cold weather. I will have episcias for sale soon, probably in June. I have been so busy with the begonias I haven't had any time for the episcias, much less my sewing! I have added a new member to my pet family; I will post pictures of him soon. This week end I will be going to Ft Worth, Texas to the begonia get together to purchase more begonias! Thank you for your interest in my website.
